Grade Disputes

University policy states that students have the right to request and receive an explanation for a grade during the course and through the end of the following semester, not including summer term.  Instructors are expected to provide an explanation for a grade within a reasonable amount of time. Students who do not receive an explanation may consult with their the Office for Conflict Resolution, their academic adviser, then the Director of Undergraduate or Graduate Studies for assistance in obtaining an explanation. Instructors are encouraged to consult with the Office for Conflict Resolution in the early stages of a dispute.
