An Incomplete (I) grade can be awarded to indicate that the student’s work in the course has not been completed. This grade option should only be used when the student has an extraordinary extenuating circumstance (as determined by the instructor) and the student has successfully completed a substantial portion of the course's work with a passing grade but was prevented from completing the work of the course on time.
University policy states that when a student is granted an incomplete grade for a class, the instructor must work with the student to create a formal agreement that details the time and manner in which the student will complete the class requirements.
If you have a student who is requesting an incomplete, follow these steps:
- Give the student the link to the Forms page on the One Stop website
- The student will find the Incomplete Grade Contract on the website (NOTE: The electronic form must be initiated by the student)
- After the student submits the form, you will receive an email with a link to enter your approval
Questions can be directed to our Curriculum and Scheduling Administrator.
